Infusion therapy administers medication or other treatments that cannot be taken by mouth. Oregon Specialty Infusion provides advanced specialty infusion services in a warm, caring environment with a highly trained staff committed to your health and comfort.
What is infusion therapy?
Infusion therapy involves administering medication or fluids directly into the bloodstream through an IV. It’s used when oral medications are not effective or appropriate for treatment.
What conditions do you treat?
We provide infusion therapy for a variety of conditions, including autoimmune disorders, infections, neurological conditions, and more. If you’re unsure whether your treatment qualifies, please contact our team or speak with your provider.
How do I become a patient of OSI?
- Physician Referral: Your primary care physician or specialty healthcare provider assesses the need for specific injection or infusion therapy; they will initiate the process by faxing the complete referral to our office.
- Insurance Verification: Our office will review your insurance coverage and verify eligibility.
- Coding and Prior Authorization: Our coding specialists will review the referral details including all documents and determine if we have sufficient information to contact your insurance carrier and determine whether prior authorization is necessary. If authorization is required, our office will initiate the process. Please note that this can take up to 30 days, although most authorizations are obtained within 15 days of our request.
- Financial Counseling is a free program offered to all patients within Oregon Specialty Group prior to their first office visit. Our financial counselors can help you understand your insurance coverage, eligibility for financial assistance programs, and provide guidance on your medical statements and setting up payment plans. The services we provide often result in complex billing questions, and our team is here to help you navigate and understand. For more information on the program, please refer to our Financial Counseling Program FAQs.
- Scheduling: Once approval is obtained, the Oregon Specialty Infusion New Patient Coordinator will contact you to schedule your appointment.
Do I need a referral to receive treatment?
Yes, a referral order form from your healthcare provider is required. This helps ensure the appropriate medication, dosage, and treatment schedule are prescribed for your condition. Order forms can be found on the Patient Forms page.
What should I expect from my first visit?
During your first visit, our care team will review your treatment plan, answer questions, and ensure you’re comfortable. You’ll be seated in a private or semi-private infusion suite with amenities to help you relax.
How long does an infusion appointment take?
The length of your visit depends on the medication being administered, and it can range from 30 minutes to several hours. You’ll be informed of your expected treatment time prior to arrival.
Will my insurance cover infusion therapy?
Coverage varies by plan. Our staff will work with your insurance provider to verify benefits and minimize out-of-pocket costs before your first treatment.
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?
If you’re unable to attend your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible to reschedule. Timely notice helps us adjust your treatment plan and accommodate other patients.
Do you offer support for financial questions or concerns?
Yes. Our team can assist with benefit verification, billing questions, and payment options. We’re here to help you navigate your care confidently.
